I have had a hard time getting this quad to start since I have had it I have managed to get it started once. I have drained gas from carb still no go. The bike is a mini 110 atv is there a fuel shut off on these or a choke? manual is pretty vague. Once it is started and warmed up I don't seem to have a problem restarting. Just seems to be a problem getting it going when it is cold. Would it be worth while getting the upgraded carb? Any help would be appreciated. could the oil have something to do with how hard it is to start?
A: Well i guess if you haven't found the choke lever then that explains why your having a hard time in the cold. the choke will be on the left side of the carb ( a black lever ), on my 50cc putting the lever up is choke, should be the same on yours. As for the oil, change out the shipping oil as soon as you can ( if you haven't already), the oil that comes in the engines it not suitable for anything more than rust protection in shipping, get some 10W-40 Castrol motorcycle oil ( or equivalent ), i also suggest changing out the crappy stock spark plug with a NGK CR7HSA, you can get these at canadian tire ( part # 018-3670-6 it will be a big improvment in starting and overall engine performance. by waynev - London, Ontario, 03/10/2010 04:04 PM
