PICK UP A COPY OF MOTOCROSS MXP PERFORMANCE MAGAZINE ISSUE TO READ THE LATEST REVIEW OF ALL NEW GIO 250CC WATER COOL X37 DIRT BIKE.
Coming in just in time for the summer season, the X37 is by far Gio’s biggest and baddest motorcycle yet! Rivaling Honda's CRF250R in all categories, this off-road machine was meant for any type of terrain. The only area you won't see the X37 rival a Honda in is price - $2499 MSRP vs. Honda CRF250R's $7200.
This 250cc four-stroke water-cooled beast has the sickest graphics you can find on a bike, and is perfect for those who love looking good while tearing up the trails and track. This is definitely one of the coolest additions to Gio’s lineup this year. The custom-designed skull emblazoned graphics go perfectly with the eye-popping orange and black color scheme. Chrome and black steel round out the best looking bike on the track, complete with dual aluminum exhaust pipes and massive 21”/18” tires for conquering the meanest terrain you can find.
Amazing visuals aren’t the only great feature of this bike. From the internals to the frame, this bike is built to last through a lifetime of vicious pounding on the track and trails. Designed by our engineers to be a close copy of the CRF250R, this bike is very similar in specs, design, and manufacturing to the Japanese-made Honda.
Built around a four-stroke, single cylinder 250cc gasoline engine, the X37 rips off the line. The Over-Head Cam (OHC), two valve engine head design matches closely to the CRF250R; a smaller bore and longer stroke (70.0x64.8 mm bore and stroke) compared to Honda's 78.0x52.2 mm, make for a 249.4 cc displacement against Honda's 249 cc. The X37 has a compression ratio of 9.5:1 versus Honda's 12.5:1; this results in slightly more power being output by the Honda, but also requiring higher octane (more expensive) gasoline and making it more difficult for the starter to turn over (tougher to start in the cold). The X37 puts out 18.5 kW of power at 7500 rpm - you'll feel this huge kick of power as soon as you hop on this bike!
FEATURES
Dual radiator water-cooling keeps the engine running optimally even under the most intense conditions and heat. Still riding a two-stroke? Upgrade to a four-stroke engine with real power that uses less fuel and lasts longer than a two-stroke. A Japanese manufactured 30 mm PZ30 carburetor ensures consistent and powerful fuel mixing. The pressure and splash lubrication system uses 15W-40 engine oil and keeps things simple and running smoothly. Matching the Honda CRF250R, the CDI ignition system provides reliable spark to the simple yet powerful single cylinder engine. The solid-state CDI ignition includes electronic advance and lighting coil, and can be easily upgraded for customizability.
The wide-ratio five-speed manual clutch provides a smooth ride with plenty of control over your bike. The transmission uses a standard 1-N-2-3-4-5 gear layout and features a manual clutch for added control. The wet multi-plate clutch features dura-coated clutch basket fingers for extra durability and lifetime. The "wet" immersion in lubricating fluid constantly cleans internal surfaces and results in smoother performance and longer clutch/transmission life. The multi-plate clutch design is similar to that used in F1 race cars. Power transfer to the rear wheel is done with chain drive with a final drive of 13:42 (front/rear sprocket)The X37 uses a Taiwanese-made KMC 520-108L (width-length) drive chain linkage that effortlessly transfers power to the rear wheel as you crank the responsive throttle. With this kind of power at your fingertips, you’ll be on top of that mountain faster than all your friends.
Built around a CNC-machined and welded lightweight steel alloy frame, the X37’s engine combines the perfect mix of power and weight. The frame is incredibly strong, but surprisingly light, built of a special steel alloy and painted with chip-resistant matte black finish. The engine cylinder angle, along with the frame and fuel tank design, have been optimized to centralize the center of mass as much possible, leading to better stability and handling.
Speaking of handling, the X37 excels in this category. With smooth front fork action on high quality headstem bearings, the X37 rides like a dream. This is made possible through precision manufactured front and rear shock absorbers, designed for off-roading. The front forks use a standard adjustable inverted and hydraulic dual shock system. The aluminum alloy 56 mm front shocks (versus Honda's 47 mm shocks) have a huge 160 mm of travel. The mammoth rear shock has 110 mm of travel and feature a massive 95 mm diameter steel coil with rebound and pre-load adjustability. The nitro-gas oil-damped shocks also feature adjustable coil travel and a huge gas reservoir with adjustable pressure nozzle.
Instantaneous precision braking is provided by the huge front and rear alloy brake discs. These highly-engineered discs are unique to the X37, measuring a massive 270 mm diameter on the front and 240 mm rear diameter. They are gripped by hydraulic dual piston calipers connected by reinforced armored brake cables. These brakes stop on a dime and are absolutely necessary for the type of dangerous terrain your X37 will see. Adding to the excellent handling are fully-adjustable steel alloy 820 mm handlebars with CNC-machined levers and controls.
The X37 is designed with full-size adult riders in mind. This truly is a large piece of machinery with power to match. The Yuanxing off-road tires (F: 80/100-21", R: 110/100-18") have a unique tread pattern perfect for dirt, rocks, mud, and sand, with huge grooves. The front measures 21” while the rear measures 18” – optimized for larger adults.
The details of this bike are beautiful as well. Do you hate kick starting dirt bikes? Me too, and I was thrilled to find the simple and elegant electric push-button ignition on the X37. Starting your bike has never been easier – and in case the conditions are too cold, a backup kick start is included as well. A 6.7L fuel tank provides extra hours of fun without refueling. The 28 mm exhaust header pipe and 42 mm exhaust pipe feed dual aluminum mufflers with dual silencers, pumping a little extra power into the already powerful engine while keeping the whine to a legal level. The CNC-machined swing arm measures 75 mm thickness in its rear section, ensuring stable and strong connection with the steel alloy frame and subframe.
All of these features truly make the X37 an indomitable off-road machine. Head to head against the Honda CRF250R, the X37 stands its ground and holds it own, matching, and in some cases topping the Honda’s specs. But one look at the X37 and you can see two huge advantages – the coolest graphics and paint job in its class and an unbeatable price! You’ll be requesting a poster of this thing for your wall once you see how cool it looks in person.
And to really quell any doubts you have about the X37, just look at the price. For the amount of bike you get for that steal of a price, it’s a no brainer. See what kind of fun you’re missing and pick up an X37 today!
