GIO Canada warrants all new GIO vehicles sold by authorized GIO Dealers (including giobikes.com) to be free from defects in materials and workmanship, subject to the following exclusions and limitations. New vehicles sold by an authorized dealer to original retail consumers are covered by this policy for a period of six (6) months from the date of delivery.

 

There is no mileage limitation. Vehicles used in rental service or for certain commercial purposes are specifically excluded from this policy. (Check with your dealer for warranty application.)

 

Items and conditions that are specifically excluded from this warranty program are:

 

1. Damage caused by accidents, misuse, negligence, improper vehicle operation.

2. Any modification or alteration to any standard specifications or equipment.

3. Any repairs made by an unauthorized dealer or service firm,

4. Use of non-GIO genuine parts for repairs or alteration to standard specifications.

5. Damage caused by failure to perform factory scheduled service maintenance.

6. Damage which occurs as a result of improper storage.

7. Damage caused by the use of improper fuel or lubricants, and/or failure to use proper oil/gas mixture on two stroke models.

 

The following normal wear parts are specifically excluded from warranty coverage:

1. Rubber parts
2. Tires
3. Belts
4. Brake linings
5. Normal wear item
6. Brake parts
7. Cables
8. Filters
9. Spark plugs
10. Bulbs
11. Batteries
12. Sprockets
13. External springs
14. Seat and hand grips.

 

 


 

 

Replacement engine policy/protocol:


If you suspect engine problem of any sort such as oil leaking, gears not switching, reverse not working, low or no compression or any other engine related issues you have to follow the following steps in order to get this engine replaced per warranty.


1. Open up the engine
2. Take a picture of a DEFECT IN the engine

3. Email it to us (via your ticket ID) along with the Engine number

 

Images MUST be clear and show the problem. DO NOT email us pictures showing oil oil or any such pictures. Email us ONLY image(s) showing defect.


Handling fee will be charged to replace any motors. The following is the fee table depending on the problem and motor type:


Engines 49cc 2 stroke - No warranty
Engines 50cc-125cc 4 Stroke - 50CA-150CA (Only for 802, 707, 817, 306, T1 and T2 products)
Engines 140cc-250cc 4 Stroke - 200CA-300CA (Only for X31, X35, X33,X80, 809, 810, T3 products)
Electric scooter motors - 50CA-150CA (500w, 500w+)

 

IMPORTANT: VAGUE ENGINE PROBLEM DESCRIPTIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

 

Examples of a VAGUE explanation:

 

1. My ATV shakes a lot. I think engine is broken and I want it replaced.
2. There is a leak from the motor. I want motor replaced.
3. My gears are not switching
4. My reverse does not work.

If you are not sure, talk to mechanic first PRIOR to filing motor problem.


 


 

 

 

All defective parts will be replaced free of charge during six months period however standard S&H fee will have to be collected. Fee will cover shipping and handling only. Replacement part(s) will be supplied at no charge.

 

Labor cost IS NOT covered on all vehicles purchased from GIObikes.com. Warranty covers replacement parts only.

 

Extended one year warranty is offered on all vehicles sold on GIObikes.com. Extended warranty covers everything what six months warranty covers except it is for one full year since purchase was made. We encourage you to register your GIO product on our site.

 

If purchased from the Authorized GIO dealer, they may offer you such extended warranty at no cost.

 

2 Stroke products such as mini pocket bikes F1 and M3, mini dirt bikes, 2 stroke pocket ATVs are exluded by this warranty. 2 stroke products do not come with any warranty. All parts for 2 strokes will have to be purchased full price.
